Valis, a classically trained vocalist and performer, gained recognition through her work with the British metal band, She Must Burn. She began her musical journey at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music at the age of 12, later joining the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir, where she appeared on BBC Songs of Praise and Aled Jones MBE's New Horizons (2005) album. Valis, known for her solo performances worldwide, joined She Must Burn in 2018. She diversified her skills by studying popular music performance and music business at BIMM University in 2021.
She Must Burn's second album, Umbra Mortis, released in October 2022, earned a nomination for 'album of the year' and secured a spot in the Top 50 metal albums of 2022 by Metal Hammer UK readers.
Valis excels in creating her own backing vocals and layered choral harmonies, blending classical and popular vocal techniques to shape her distinctive sound. She thrives on collaboration, offering guest vocals and songwriting services for artists spanning rock, metal, synth wave, and goth genres.
Beyond music, Valis has made cameo appearances in television and film, including HBO's Game of Thrones (Seasons 5 & 6), Hulu's The Great: Season 2, and the indie thriller film Graphic Desires (2022).
